90/10 Principle

Mr. David showed us lots of videos the other day and among all of them, there was one which caught my attention. It was a video about Stephen Covey's 90/10 Principle.

It's true, right? We have no control over certain things in life but we can change what will happen after.

Let's take for an example of what happened to me before. My scientific calculator got stolen just on the last day of exam. I left it in my bag which was placed in another place since the next paper didn't require the use of that device. I couldn't bring it to the examination hall anyway. By the time I noticed that, it was too late to look for the thief. I blamed the teachers who were in charged of taking care of our bags. Where were they? Slacking off just because they felt that there were nothing important about our stuff? I had a real bad day and come to think of it now, I pity those innocent people I've scolded on that day. Lol. What if I gave the opposite reaction? Perhaps, I wouldn't end up ranting and getting mad at people at that time and my day wouldn't be ruined.

Recently, before I knew the existence of this interesting principle, another incident occurred. My sister borrowed my scientific calculator since for some reasons, I own 2 of those. After some time, she returned it and guess what, the calculator was half dead. There were scratches everywhere and the thing itself couldn't be covered properly. I didn't go havoc though. I just took it back without complaining because I knew it was useless. I continued enjoying the rest of the day like normal and managed to have some fun.

See the difference? When I first found out about Stephen Covey's principle, I agreed with it right away for I have experienced it myself. I must admit that it's hard to apply the concept but it's worth your energy and patience :D

Melody~Salva Nos version

I've never watched Noir before but I somehow love all the songs and managed to download all the OSTs. I only discovered them when I was searching randomly for Kajiura Yuki's songs a few months back. Among all the songs, I found out that there is one which has beautiful meaning and great music. It's actually a combination of two songs from Noir itself, known as Melody and Salva Nos. Since I love this song so much, I decided to make a simple video out of it. Of course I do not own anything in the video :P

Song: Melody~Salva Nos version [Kajiura Yuki]
Intro poem: Near you [Orania Hamilton]

Final Fantasy Versus XIII Trailer

We were having a simple trailer-making contest for our Computer Club about a week ago where we could make trailers of anything we like as long as they didn't exceed 5 minutes. Too bad we were only allowed to use Windows Movie Maker because our club's teacher wanted to test our skills. It got me all excited since I love playing with the program. After thinking for a few days, I decided to make a trailer based on one of Square Enix's latest games which will be released soon.

It wasn't easy because the videos available for the game are limited and the characters' voices haven't been revealed yet, which means the original videos don't have any human's sound. Anyway, I ended up producing this:

Title:
Final Fantasy Versus XIII

Developer: Square Enix

Music & Voices:

- Have You Ever Felt [Ill Niño]
- Rifle-shooting [Sudden Attack]
- Sakura's scream [Naruto]
- I'm Right Here [Kajiura Yuki]
- Cell phone ring
- Two (Vaya Con Dios) [Ill Niño]

Heaven's eyes

Another amazing but creepy video to be shared with you guys. You can see that the clouds started forming 2 eyes in the beginning.

The owner of this video said:

This video was forwarded to me by Direk Mark of Dahil May Isang Ikaw during our taping which was also forwarded to him. This, I was told, happened in Mindanao last Saturday, September 26, 2009 when our Muslim brothers were doing their morning prayers...... This was the same day when Luzon suffered the wrath of Ondoy...

Does God exist?

When I was surfing the net, I came across this great video which is created based on a story of Albert Einstein.

Then, I started to ponder. Is it true that sin doesn't exist because God basically made man for slave labor as there was no one to work on the ground when earth and heaven were first created? The same goes for the dark colour known as black. In fact, black is a non-existence. It is merely a word given to describe the absence of photons of light or colours. How about frailty? Is it caused by the absence of God in human's heart as well? What do you think?

Still, there is no evidence that Albert Einstein was involved in the story shown by the video. Here are some of the indicators:

In his Autobiographical Notes, Einstein states that his "deep religiosity" as a Jewish child ended at the age of 12 when he developed a skeptical attitude towards a personal God that he continued throughout his life. 1
bullet On 1954-MAR-24, Einstein answered a letter from a stranger stating:

"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it." 2

The Urban Legends Reference Pages comments that Einstein's name:

"... gets used in legends whose plots call for a smart person, one whom the audience will immediately recognize as such (e.g. modern tellings of an ancient legend about a learned rabbi who switches places with his servant feature Albert Einstein in the role of esteemed scholar). This venerated cultural icon has, at least in the world of contemporary lore, become a stock character to be tossed into the fray wherever the script calls for a genius. ..."

Likewise, "the atheist professor" is a figure common to a number of urban legends and anecdotes of the faithful — he gets flung into the mix where there's a need for someone to play the role of Science Vanquished in Science-versus-Religion tales. ...

He's a stereotype, not an actual person. He exists to be knocked over by the persuasive arguments of the faithful in yarns about theology successfully defended. 3

Scary optical illusions O_O

I was bored so I browsed through YouTube and came across this video. I have to say it is awesome! Just that Jesus' face somehow looked creepy to me and only went off after a few minutes. Try it out if you dare >D

Here are more cool ones <3

Also, there was an earthquake occurring at West Malaysia today. I felt none since I'm staying at East Malaysia. I bet I would have felt that if I was back in KL earlier O_O

Yuki Kajiura LIVE - Liminality

I was browsing through YouTube to search for some songs until I found this video. It's freaking epic for me since this is one of my favourite songs from .hack//Liminality. I must admit that it's much better than the original version which can be downloaded on my blog.

Composer: Kajiura Yuki

Vocal: YURIKO KAIDA/KAORI/KEIKO/WAKANA

Lyrics

I'll be there by your side
in the land of twilight
in your dream I will go
till we find the sunrise

You are lost in nightmare
deep in blue illusion
one more kiss to wake you up
come be mine, you are mine

I will be there seekin' for liminality
no destinations to see, I wander
in quiet places so dark as eternity
I'm crying calling your name
I'm searching for you

Dreaming in the land of twilight
we are in the land of twilight
deep in blue eternity
search for liminality
