Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Read the title of this post yet? Don't get the wrong ideas, okay? I didn't read some kid's diary and going to post its contents here.

"Diary of a Wimpy Kid" is actually the title of a novel series which I find worth reading. It's basically about the life of a middle school student, Gregory Heffley together with his family and friends which will always keep you entertained. Not to mention all the humors inside which never fail to make you laugh.

Only 4 volumes of the series have been released so far and the fifth one is coming soon. Here is an image of the first two.

I'll let you have a look at the first page of the first volume :P

Want to read more? Easy. Go and purchase yourself. Lol. I bought them all from Kinokuniya for around 30 MYR each except for the fourth volume which cost around 44 MYR. Worth my money though since you will never get bored reading them. Proof? I have read each volume for at least 3 times. Otherwise, you can always try asking William since he somehow read the first volume after I bought it. Maybe Hugo too XD

Again?

It has been raining every day for the past week. In fact, it still rains a bit now. Sigh. Seems like it's going to flood again soon during Chinese New Year. Well, that is what my friend told me from what he heard from the radio.

Obviously, the cold weather is extremely cozy for lazing around but it's preventing me from hanging out with friends as well. It's not like I can't go out on rainy days though. I can but it's definitely not going to be too fun, right?

So, here I am. Stuck inside the house for days and I'm slowly turning into a hikikomori. Those who have watched Welcome to the NHK before will definitely know the meaning of that term. I have been spending most of my time in front of my PC and gaming. I need a new memory stick. Lol.

Well, there goes my original plan of enhancing my piano skills in these few months of my uber long holiday. Whenever I wanted to get started, I would get distracted by something else. Yeah, that is the main reason why I can never finish playing a song up until today XD

Ah well, I'm off for something else now. Until next time, people.

Forbidden love

I just found these videos yesterday who would have guessed they actually make up a great but sad story. Here are the synopsis of the whole thing and credits go to wakafallen06 from YouTube for it.

Characters:

Len (the boy)= he is a young Jewish prisoner at what is probably a concentration camp.

Rin (the girl)= She is a terminally sick girl who lives at a hospital next to the concentration camp. Her father is a Nazi officer.

Story:

Len and Rin, two young kids living side by side but divided by the metal barbed wire. They communicate by flying paper plane letters to each other, and they're both happy despite their situations (Len in the concentration camp and Rin suffering from terminal disease)

One day, Rin's father finds her reading the paper plane letter, and he becomes enraged when he finds out it's from a Jewish boy. He tells her to never see him again, and Rin becomes confused.

A few days after that, she discovers her symptoms are getting worse, and she can hardly walk anymore. Because she doesn't want Len to worry about her, she changes her clothes again into civilian clothes and goes out to meet him one last time. She sends him a letter that says she is moving away, so he'll never see her again. Len tells her he's going to wait until she comes back, asking "if I don't lose this letter and keep it with me safely...tell me we'd meet again someday."

Because she doesn't want to show her tears, Rin runs away.

Later that day, Rin gets worse, and the father finds out it's because she has been crying over Len.

He goes to the concentration camp in his uniform and tears Rin's letters from Len. Seeing this, Len is furious because he promised Rin that he'd keep them safe so they can meet again. In his fury, he attacks Rin's father, punching him and crying. The guards take him away and lock him up, and later, he dies in the gas room. (This is explored in Len's Prisoner PV)

Not knowing that Len's already dead, Rin lies on the hospital bed for months. She gets worse and worse, until she comes to a point where she is definitely going to die. She reminisces about the past and (thinking Len is still alive) thinks he'd be smiling up at her somewhere, that she wants to meet him, see him one last time.

Before she dies, her father puts the dropped paper plane letter into her hands. (thus, the promise was kept. Rin's father gave Len the letter too before he died)

A brand new year

2010 is finally here and HAPPY NEW YEAR, everyone!!

I spent the night with my friends whom I haven't met since we left secondary school. Our original plan was to celebrate it with our teacher but it turned out that she was busy. The new year gathering almost got canceled but fortunately enough, I somehow managed to save it :P

We spent about 3 hours in Red Carrot Cafe talking about random stuff while eating. I have to say that most of them have changed in terms of appearance. Anyways, here are some pictures taken earlier XD

Now I'm looking forward to our next party which will probably be held in a month :D
